How to Mount a Panasonic TC-P50S1 on a Wall

The problem with mounting flat screen TVs, especially plamsa TVs like the Panasonic TC-P50S1, is that the weight of the TV is greater than the wall can handle. This is why it is crucial to mount the plasma TV to the wooden studs behind the wall. You must also use thick enough screws to handle the weight of the Plasma -- if you buy a wall mount that is rated for 50-inch plasmas like the TC-P50S1, it should come with the appropriate screws.

  Move a studfinder from side to side on the wall you want to mount the TV until the indicator shows where two adjacent studs are. Mark these points with a pencil.

  Place the mount on the wall and move it to the desired height (roughly at eye level). Mark the location of the screwholes on the wall with a pencil, keeping in mind that the screwholes need to be on the same vertical line as the studs you marked in step 1.

  Place a laser level on the wall to make sure both the vertical and horizontal screwmarks are level. Alternatively, place a straight edge from one point to another and use a bubble level to ensure the screwmarks are level.

  Drill the mount to the wall.

  Screw the mounting plate to the back of the TC-P50S1.

  Hold the TC-P50S1 in front of the mount and connect any cables you need to connect.

  Slide the TC-P50S1 onto the wall mount.
