- 1
Heat the tire. Use an oven, a tire box or lay it out in the sun. Let the air out of the tire and remove the valve core.
- 2
Place the wheel on the ground with the short side facing up. Break the bead on the tire by placing it in the bead breaker. Repeat the process on the opposite side.
- 3
Remove the tire from the wheel. Do not use tire irons. Roll the top of the tire away from your body and push the bottom bead over the rim. Grab the extended bead and work the tire off the rim. Turn the wheel over and hold the rim with your hand. Work the outer bead over the inner rim edge.
- 4
Heat the tire again so it is easier to work with. Place a lubricant on the outer area of the tire and then push it onto the wheel. Repeat the process on the opposite side of the wheel.
- 5
Place the wheel and tire on the mounting ring and secure the tire band to the tire.
- 6
Place the tire band on the ground and position the openings so they are facing left and right. Use the air compressor to fill the tire with air until you hear two popping sounds. The popping sounds are the tire sealing to the wheel. Remove the air compressor and let the air out of the tire.
- 7
Attach the valve core and use the air compressor to fill the tire with air.
- 8
Repeat the process to mount other tires, if necessary.

How to Mount Shifter Kart Tires
Mounting shifter kart tires can be more difficult than mounting tires on another vehicle. Kart tires are designed as one piece. The mounting process will become easier over time once experience is gained. Tools for the procedure may not be found in your garage, but an auto parts store can provide what you need.
