How to Obtain Incoming Phone Call Numbers

Caller identification is a service that lets telephone users see the phone number of the person or business calling. Caller ID is standard with cellphones and can be added to any home phone service. In some cases, the incoming phone number is labeled as private or anonymous, and is not revealed through caller ID. If you want to obtain incoming phone call numbers, follow a few steps.
    • 1

Add a feature on your telephone, such as Anonymous Call Rejection, that rejects anonymous calls. Your telephone automatically announces to the anonymous caller that your telephone does not accept calls from anonymous callers. This forces the anonymous caller to hang up and call back and reveal her phone number to get through. To activate this feature, dial *77. To de-activate, dial *87.

Use the call return telephone feature to determine the last incoming call. Dial *69 right after the call and in some cases the phone number will be disclosed.

    • 3

Trace incoming calls by using the call trace telephone feature. Dial *57 to trace the phone number of the last call that you received.

    • 4

Add a privacy director feature that gives you the ability to identify blocked, private, unknown, and unavailable phone numbers. To use this feature, you must subscribe to the caller identification feature. The privacy director feature forces the caller to announce herself. You have the option of accepting or not accepting that call.
