How to Present SWOT Analysis Results

A Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis is carried out by a business to determine if a potential project is viable. This analysis will identify, for example, if the company would struggle to find the resources to complete a project on time, or if it wouldn't be profitable. You can avoid any mistakes or omissions by presenting these analysis results accurately to senior management.

Explain why you carried out a SWOT analysis and your process. Describe how you weighed the company's internal strengths and weaknesses with any external threats or opportunities that could help or hinder the project's success.

    • 2

Prioritize your findings under each of the four headings, so you don't discuss unimportant items in your presentation of analysis results to management. Make sure your audience understands the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and their impact.

    • 3

Review the company's strengths and weaknesses, illustrating each point with evidence. You can use recent customer satisfaction data to show that the business is considerate, for example.

    • 4

Talk about the external threats and opportunities that could damage your project's success. This may be controversial and ignite discussion. Defend your analysis, but be open to alterations or correction.

    • 5

Conclude by explaining how you will use the SWOT analysis results to develop an alternative project strategy that will be more profitable and beneficial for the business. Close by asking if any audience members have any questions.
