- 1
Use design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher or Quark to design the contents of the CD booklet. Microsoft Office also has a variety of templates from which to choose (see Resources).
- 2
Open a new document in your word processing software. The document will be in a standard 8.5-inch by 11-inch format. Shrink that size down to 9.5 inches by 4.725 inches, which is the usual size of CD booklets. In the center of the new document, draw a line that will be used to fold the CD booklet in half.
- 3
Insert your design into the document. If you have multiple pages, you will need to continue inserting the design elements to each page. When prepping the designs, keep in mind how the CD booklet is going to look when you fold it over and insert it.
- 4
Insert glossy paper into your printer. The gloss will make the CD booklet look and feel more professional. Print the CD booklet from your printer.
- 5
Use a ruler and scissors to cut the middle 9.5 inch by 4.725 inch section from the rest of the sheet. Continue doing this for however many pages your CD booklet is.
- 6
Line up the pages so that they are facing the correct direction and use a stapler (stapling in the middle, where the middle lines are drawn) to attach the booklet.
- 7
Fold the booklet in half across the line and staples and slide it into your CD case.
