Insert your address into the desktop publishing software on your computer. Open your software and choose "Tools" and "Envelopes." Enter a return address into the corresponding box and the address where you are mailing the envelope into the mailing address box.
- 2
Insert your envelopes in the document feeder on the printer. Ensure that the envelope is facing the correct way, face down with the flap on the left side of the envelope.
- 3
Send the information from your computer to your printer. Choose the "Print" button and the "Printer Properties" box will open. Select the printer with which you would like to print your envelopes by pulling down the drop-down arrow and selecting your default printer, if you have multiple printers connected to your computer. Press the "Print" button to print out your envelope.
- 4
Remove the envelope from the document output feeder. Grab the envelope by the edges and lay it on a flat surface, such as a nearby table or desk. Avoid touching the ink immediately, giving it time to dry so it will not smudge. Once the ink dries, you may stuff and mail the envelope.

How to Print Envelopes on an HP C4640
Printing envelopes gives a more professional look to your business or personal correspondence. With the Hewlett-Packard Photosmart C4640 all-in-one printer, printing envelopes can also help you save both time and money. Although the HP C4640 does not have its own envelope feed, you can still output approximately five to 10 envelopes at a time through the regular document feeder on the printer.
