Check the printer cable to make sure it is firmly connected to both the 5510 printer and the computer. Tighten the cable if it is loose.

Log on to your computer and click the "Start" button. Choose "Control Panel" from the list and double-click the "Printers and Faxes" icon. Locate the 5510 in the list of printers. Log on to the HP website and download the setup file for the 5510, if it is not listed.
