How to Record Album Information Onto a CD-R

When you insert an audio CD or CD-R into a compatible CD player, the album, track and artist information will be displayed on the LCD display. This is useful if you want to burn a compilation for someone so she knows what song is currently playing. While you can burn audio CD-Rs using the inbuilt Windows Media Player, you must first download the WMPCDText plugin to enable CD-Text in Windows Media Player.

  Download and install WMPCDText. (See Resources.)

  Insert a blank CD into your disc burner.

  Click "Burn audio CD with Windows Media Player."

  Drag the songs you want to burn into the "Burn list."

  Click "Burn to disc." Now that you have installed the CD-Text plugin, the album information will burn as well.
