How to Reduce Your Virtual Memory

All programs that run on a Windows 7 computer use a portion of the system's random access memory, or RAM. RAM is a temporary storage area where programs utilize the PC's processor to perform calculations, or store rendered images for video games. Depending on how much RAM your computer has and how much a given application needs, system RAM may run out. In this situation, Windows borrows a preset amount of storage space on the hard drive. This borrowed space is called virtual memory, and its preset value can be changed.
