How to Register "Diablo 2"

"Diablo 2" is an action-role playing game by Blizzard that can be played cooperatively on Blizzard's popular battle.net online gaming service. To do so, players must first register their game with battle.net. In addition to being able to play "Diablo 2" on battle.net, registering will allow you to download a full digital backup copy of "Diablo 2" to your computer should you ever lose your game disc.

      Insert the "Diablo 2" game disc into your computer's primary disc drive. Follow the on-screen prompts to install "Diablo 2" to your computer's hard drive.

      Open your web browser and go to battle.net. If you already have a battle.net account, click on "Log in," enter your user name and password, and go to Step 5. If you do not have an existing account, click on "Create an Account."

      Enter your information and choose a user name and password. The user name is usually your primary e-mail address. Once you complete the sign-up process with the site, a validation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address you provided.

      Click on the link that was sent to your e-mail address to validate and activate your battle.net account. Enter your new user name and password to access your battle.net homepage.

      Click on "Account" in the upper-right navigation bar to go to your account management page.

      Click on the green "add a game" button on the far right of your account management page.

      Locate the game key on the inside of your "Diablo 2" game case.

      Type the game key into the box underneath "enter game key" and click "activate game."
