How to Reinstall SBS 2003

Windows Small Business Server 2003 is an edition of Microsoft Windows designed for small organizations. It contains Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, SQL Server, Windows Server and IIS for serving Web pages and FTP. You can reinstall Small Business Server 2003 using the original installation discs.

      Back up any data or information that you would like to save before starting the re-installation.

      Insert your SBS 2003 installation DVD or disc 1 of your CD set into the computer's optical drive.

      Restart your computer. Press a key when the "Press any key to boot from CD" message appears.

      Press "Enter" when the "Welcome" screen appears.

      Press "F8" to accept the license agreement after reviewing its terms.

      Delete your existing partition by selecting it from the menu using the directional arrow keys on your system and highlighting it from the list. Press "D" to delete, then press "L" to confirm the process. All data deleted through this process will be lost unless it was backed up.

      Select "Unpartitioned Space" and press "Enter" to begin installing.

      Select "NTFS" from the list of partition types. NTFS is required for many Windows Server 2003 features.

      Select your time zone and language when the "Regional and Language Options" dialog appears.

      Enter your organization information when prompted on the "Personalize" screen.

      Supply your Small Business Server 2003 product key when prompted.

      Confirm your date and time when prompted. The computer will now restart and the operating system is now reinstalled.
