How to Remove the Ashtray From a 1990 Chevy C/K 1500

The ashtray in a 1990 Chevrolet C/K 1500 is located toward the middle of the dash and requires no tools for removal. It is positioned on gliders that make it simple to pull out when needed or push in to conceal. This makes cleaning the ashtray simple, as it can then be washed in the dishwasher or sink and then placed back into the truck.

  Locate the ashtray in the middle of the dash under the stereo. The ashtray will have a handle to grasp to slide it out.

  Slide the ashtray out until it stops. Locate a release tab on the top rear of the ashtray.

  Push in the release tab and pull the ashtray out of the dash. The ashtray will slide all the way out.

  Repeat the steps to position the ashtray back in to the dash.
