How to Remove Car Wax From a Vehicle Window Casing

When waxing a vehicle it is quite easy to accidentally smear wax on the plastic window casing. Window casing also is known as window trim. The leftover wax on the window casing may go unnoticed until it begins to dry. Once dried, the wax takes on a white, hazy look. While dried wax will not damage the plastic window casing, it can detract from the overall appearance of the vehicle.

Wipe away the excess wax along the window casing if you notice it before it dries. Wrap the washcloth around your fingers and wipe off the excess wax using medium to firm pressure. This will not remove all of the wax, nor will it work if the wax has dried.

Wash the vehicle's window casing with soap and water and dry it with a towel.

Apply rubbing alcohol to the second washcloth. Rub the alcohol over the wax using a quick back-and-forth or circular motion. Let the rubbing alcohol set for at least 30 minutes. The rubbing alcohol will break down the wax, making it easier to remove.
