Remove the bottom screws that secure the knee bolster panel located below the steering column with a small screwdriver. Lift the panel off of its clips at the top.

- 5
Remove the lower dash trim panel, once the glove box is removed, by removing its screws.
- 6
Pull the tilt lever out of the steering column, then unscrew and disconnect the lower half of the steering column cover with the screwdriver. Pull off the upper half of the cover.

How to Remove the Dash Trim on a Chevrolet Avalanche
There are multiple trim panels that cover the dashboard on a Chevrolet Avalanche truck. These panels are assembled in the same fashion as similar GM trucks, such as the Silverado and the GMC Yukon. Removing all of these panels is a prerequisite for disassembling and removing the dash as a whole, but you can and may need to remove only one or two panels to access certain components. You will need to remove some trim panels before you can remove others.
