How to Remove Plastic From Plexiglass

Though commonly known for being advantageous over glass in terms of weight and economy, Plexiglas is subject to scratches. Because of this, Plexiglas is always shipped with a protective plastic film to protect it from scratches during installation and transport. After installing your Plexiglas, you can safely remove the plastic. There are a few ways to remove the whole sheet of plastic at once.

  Pull up one corner of the plastic with your fingernail.

  Peel back the film diagonally.

  Adjust your grip on the plastic so that you are always holding it near where it's peeling off the Plexiglas. Continue peeling until the plastic comes off completely.

  Wipe away any residue with a soft, damp towel. Clean the Plexiglas with a soft, dry towel.
