Scrape away as much silicone from the surface as you can with a plastic putty knife. Be sure to use only the flat blade of the knife, as the corners can gouge scratches into the cabin's surface.
- 2
Wear protective gloves, goggles and long sleeves when working with silicone solvent. The strong chemicals in the solvent can irritate or damage skin.
- 3
Spread silicone solvent onto the stained area with a paintbrush or rag. Follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding application rate. Allow the solvent to sit on the surface per product recommendations; this working time will ensure that the solvent has time to break the bond between silicone and surface.
- 4
Scrape away all loosened silicone stain with the putty knife. Repeat solvent application and scraping until all sign of silicone is removed.
- 5
Rinse the surface by wiping it down with a rag dampened in clean water, removing all residual solvent.
