How to Replace a 1995 Ford Contour Fan Fuse

The fan fuse on your 1995 Ford Contour keeps the heater fan, or blower, running properly. Because heater in Contour often is used on a regular basis, especially during the winter months, it is not uncommon or unusual for the fan fuse to blow out. Fuse replacement is one of the easier do-it-yourself car repairs you can make. You will save both time and money by doing this repair on your own.

  Locate and open the fuse panel on your 1995 Ford Contour. It is located on the driver's side, on the left hand side of your Contour's steering wheel toward the bottom of the dash. Open the panel by pulling it forward.

  Find the fuse for your Contour's fan. Do this by examining the fuse diagram on the inside of the fuse panel cover you removed. The 15-amp fan fuse is located on the bottom row and should be the second from the right.

  Clamp onto the plastic edge of the old fuse with the needle-nose pliers and pull it firmly and straight out.

  Push the new fuse into the empty slot using your thumb.

  Replace the fuse box cover, start your Contour and test out the blower.
