How to Replace the Internal Battery Cell on a 450ROG

The 450ROG is a model of laptop computer manufactured by Gateway, a California-based electronics and information technology subsidiary of Acer, Inc.. The 450ROG, like all laptops, has an internal battery for providing power to the computer while it is not connected to an outlet. You can replace the internal battery or cell if you have a second battery to install into your 450ROG. This is useful if your current battery has become less effective after several years of use. The process is uncomplicated and should only take a few minutes.
    • 1

Switch off the 450ROG and remove the power cable from the back of the computer.

    • 2

Disconnect the "Optional Port Replicator" if it is connected. Do this by pushing down on the release latches on the Port Replicator then pulling the laptop upward.

    • 3

Close the screen and turn the computer over so the bottom is facing upward.

    • 4

Slide the battery-release latch, located in the middle of the underside of the computer. The battery will pop up.

    • 5

Pull the old battery out of the 450ROG.

    • 6

Place your replacement battery into the computer and push down until it snaps into place.

    • 7

Turn over the laptop and reconnect the power supply. You can now use your 450ROG and new battery as normal.
