How to Replace Volume Control in Windows

Microsoft Windows makes it relatively simple to adjust your computer volume from within the operating system itself by placing a "volume" icon in your Windows task bar. Occasionally, however, you may find that the icon has been removed and want to get it back. Fortunately, it is not a difficult task to place the icon back in your task bar's system tray.

  Right click the task bar and click "Properties."

  Select the "Notification Area" tab.

  Select the check box labeled "Volume." This will ensure that the volume icon is always displayed in your Windows task bar.
