How to Resize a C Drive With Partition Magic

Partition Magic is a program released by Symantec for the Windows XP operating system. Although it is no longer available for sale, the program is capable of resizing and managing partitions on Windows XP. You can use Partition Magic to resize your system "C" drive, but you will need to schedule a restart to perform the operation.

      Open Partition Magic from the Start menu.

      Right-click the C partition.

      Click "Resize/Move."

      Adjust the slider to increase or decrease the amount of free space available to the partition.

      Click "General" and then "Apply Changes" to schedule the resize. Because the system drive is in use, you will be prompted to restart your system. Click "OK."
