How to Restore a Registry From a DOS Prompt
Scanreg is a Windows registry utility used on older operating systems, including Windows 98, ME and XP. Scanreg scans, locates and repairs problems with the Windows registry. The utility may start on Windows bootup to warn you of possible issue with the registry database. You can also run it from the DOS command prompt if you suspect corruption with your Windows registry. If you want to repair your registry manually, try executing Scanreg from the DOS command prompt.
