How to Run VMware in Parallels

VMWare and Parallels are software programs that allow you to run operating systems within an operating system on your computer. This means that you can run different versions of Microsoft Windows, Linux, UNIX and other operating platforms as programs on your computer. Information on these virtual systems are stored as files known as virtual disk drives. You can convert a VMWare drive to a Parallels drive using conversion software built into the Parallels program.
    • 1

Click "Start" and type "Parallels Transporter."

    • 2

Click "Express" and "Whole Virtual Computer."

    • 3

Click your VMWare disk file from the "Browse..." window and then click it. Click "Open" to choose the virtual disk.

    • 4

Wait as the file is converted. It will be automatically converted and saved in your Parallels directory.

    • 5

Click "File" and "Open" in Parallels and double-click the name of the disk you recently converted from the default menu.
