How to Set the Clock on a 1998 Subaru Legacy

The clock in the 1998 Subaru Legacy is included with the factory stereo. The car came with either a cassette player or a CD player/cassette combo unit. The procedure to set the clock is slightly different between the stereos. Clock-setting instructions differ for vehicles equipped with an aftermarket radio.   Insert the Legacy's key into the ignition and turn it to "Acc."

  Push and hold the "Disp" button for one second if your Legacy has the CD player. If it doesn't have the CD player, this step isn't necessary.

  Press and hold "Disp" and "H" to set the clock's hour entry. The hour will advance by one-hour increments. Release the buttons when it is correct.

  Press and hold "Disp" and "M" to set the clock's minute entry. The entry will advance in one-minute increments. Release the buttons and turn the key to "Off" to save the time.
