How to Set the Trim on a Breckwell Pellet Stove

The Breckwell company manufactures gas, wood, multi-fuel and pellet-burning stoves for residential and small commercial dwellings. As of fall 2010, they sell eight branded lines of pellet stoves with several models in each line. Their pellet stoves are designed with an ability to adjust the amount of pellets by weight that are released into the fire chamber, choosing from one of three settings. This feature is designed to maintain optimal burn efficiency suited to your heating needs across the different sizes and qualities of pellet fuel on the market. If you stick with the same pellet fuel over time, it is likely that you will only need to set the trim on the first use. If you change pellet brands, size or type, you may need to reset the trim, which is simple to do.
    • 1

Turn the pellet stove on and fire it up until it's at its normal operating temperature.

    • 2

Depress the "Reset Trim" button on the control panel or remote, and observe the lights on the "Heat Level" bar graph on the control panel.

    • 3

Press the "Reset Trim" button repeatedly as needed to achieve the desired release rate of pellet fuel among the three setting options: low, normal and high.

    • 4

Illuminate the 1 and 3 lights on the bar graph for the lowest dispersal rate at .9 pounds of pellets per hour. Illuminate only the 1 light on the graph for the normal or default pellet dispersal rate. Light up 1 and 4 together on the bar graph to raise the pellet feed rate to its highest setting.
