Human Translation
- 1
Examine the text that you will translate. Underline the verbs and their subjects. Leave the other parts of speech unmarked.
- 2
Translate the verbs to Spanish. At this stage, only translate them into the infinitive.
- 3
Note the verb's subject and tense. Note if it is in present or past tense and if it is in indicative or subjunctive form.
- 4
Conjugate the verbs into Spanish. Type the infinitive into an online conjugator, such as verbix.com, and look for the correct subject and tense. For instance, the infinitive of "to eat" is "comer." But if "comer" is written in the first-person, past tense "I ate," then it becomes "comí."
- 5
Translate the nouns into Spanish.
- 6
Translate the other parts of speech--articles, prepositions, conjunctions and adjectives--into Spanish. When translating adjectives, make sure the gender and number correspond with the noun. For example, "chicos" means "boys" in Spanish. Typically, words ending with "o" or "os" are masculine while words ending with "a" or "as" are feminine. If chicos is with an adjective, the adjective should end with an "os" and be plural.
- 7
Combine the words to form complete sentences.
