How to Troubleshoot a Ricoh Aficio MP 3350 Toner Cartridge

The quality of printouts you can expect from your Ricoh Aficio MP 3350 multifunction printer is only as good as the toner it contains. If the toner cartridge is damaged or defective, the quality of your printouts, scans and copies will be impacted, so it is important to address the situation as soon as possible. Taking the time to clean your printer and examine the toner cartridge can extend the life of the MP 3350 and its toner cartridge.

  Open the front cover of the Ricoh Aficio MP3350 and push the lever to access the toner cartridge. Pull the cartridge up and then gently remove the toner cartridge from the printer.

  Place the toner cartridge on a flat surface that has been covered with a drop cloth or paper towels. Allow the toner cartridge to sit face down for at least 10 to 15 minutes, then lift the cartridge and check for any leaking toner. If the cartridge is leaking toner it should be replaced, since that leaking toner could contaminate the entire paper path.

  Turn the toner cartridge over and carefully clean the exterior with a soft dry cloth. Clean the entire surface to remove any paper dust and toner residue.

  Clean the interior of the printer with a soft cloth to remove any toner that may be contaminating the paper path. You can also use a small vacuum cleaner with a crevice attachment to clean the interior of the printer.

  Shake the toner cartridge before placing it back in the MP3350. This will redistribute the remaining toner powder in the cartridge and help the printer print more evenly.
