How to Uninstall Automatic Updates

Windows Update keeps your computer updated with new software definitions, hardware drivers, and security fixes. Not all of the updates are required for your computer. If you want to be able choose which updates to install on your computer, you need to disable automatic updates.

Disabling Windows Updates

  Navigate to the "Start" menu.

  Click "All Programs" and choose "Windows Update."

  Navigate to the left pane and click "Change Settings."

  Select the "Never Check for Updates" option.

  Click "OK" to confirm the new settings.
