How to Unlock Accounts in Virtual Server 2005

The Virtual Server 2005 application lets I.T. administrators install multiple operating systems on a single dedicated computer, called a host server. The host server can be fully configured with virtual networks, virtual hard disks and security settings, which control who can access the operating systems and when. Occasionally, the access -- or user -- accounts become locked because of incorrect password entry. In such cases, the underlying Windows security model needs to be used to unlock the account.

  Log on to the Windows Server using an account with administrative rights.

  Click "Start," "Programs," "Administrative Tools," then "Active Directory Users and Computers."

  Right-click on the Virtual Server 2005 account that is locked out and click "Properties."

  Click the "Account" tab.

  Uncheck, or clear, the "Account is locked out" field.

  Click "OK" to save these settings.
