How to Update the PIN on a BlackBerry 7100i

Every BlackBerry has a unique PIN that enables it to connect to your personal information online and your email. If you recently upgraded to a BlackBerry 7100i from another BlackBerry device, make sure that the phone's PIN is updated on your BlackBerry online account. Otherwise, the account still is connected to your old phone. The PIN should automatically update on your account when you connect the phone with BlackBerry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Internet Service, but you can also update the PIN manually through your service provider's BlackBerry Internet email service.

  Locate the PIN on the BlackBerry 7100i if you do not know it. Select "Options" on the phone's homepage, then select "Status."

  Go to BlackBerry's Internet email service on a computer. The website address will vary depending on your wireless carrier.

  Log in to your account. If you do not have an account, follow the prompts to create a new email account for the BlackBerry. Enter your PIN when prompted.

  Select "Profile" if you have an account and are changing the PIN. Select "Change handheld."

  Enter your new PIN in the space provided and click "Submit."
