Shut down your computer. Remove the power cable, all peripherals and the monitor cable from your computer. Remove the case cover or case side panel. You may need to unscrew a panel from the back of the computer to do this.

Look in the upper right side of your motherboard. The RAM, or memory modules, should be located in narrow interface slots. Lower the levers on each side of the memory module and pull out the cards one at a time.

Insert the new RAM into the interface slot. Press the levers into the small notches on the side of the memory cards. The memory is keyed to a specific orientation so you are not able to install it incorrectly. If the memory refuses to slot into place in one direction, turn it around.

Put the case cover on and reconnect all computer cables.
