How to Use Recycled Ink for an HP D145

The HP D145, an all-in-one copy, printer and fax machine, can go through large amounts of ink quickly. Recycled ink cartridges make it much cheaper to use this machine, as using recycled ink cuts costs drastically from buying new ink each time. You can get recycled ink from almost any office supplies store.

Turn on the printer. Once it has started up, right underneath the dialing pad, push the release switch to open the printer. It will tilt up and display the inner parts of the printer, and the cartridge unit will come to the center.

Press the grey release button on the cartridge, which will allow you to pop out the old cartridge. Pull it out and save it for later use for recycled ink.

Push the recycled ink cartridge into the printer cartridge slot. The grey release tab will click when it is inserted completely into the printer.

Close the printer hood. Once it latches, it will automatically print out a test page to make sure the new ink you replaced works. Once the sheet of paper comes out, check the quality of the colored, and black and white prints to make sure everything is correct.
