How to Use TypePad

TypePad is a popular, paid blogging service that you can use to create your own personal or business blog. The service offers a variety of features, including template designs and personal support for new users. TypePad also allows you to integrate the blog you create with your own registered domain name.

  Select a package that meets your blogging needs. If you plan to create many different blogs, use the TypePad Unlimited or Premium package. You're given the opportunity to try out the service for free before you start paying monthly service fees.

  Enter your account information, including your display name, email address and blog name. Click "Change" next to the "Domain" box under account information to adjust the name of the blog or add your own registered domain name. Provide your billing details (credit-card information) as well.

  Click the "Design" tab, and select a template design to start creating your blog. Categories include professional, personal, microblog, simple and sponsored. You can customize the design to your needs by clicking the options under "Customize Your Current Design."

  Press the "Posts" tab to start a new blog entry. When the empty posting box loads, get familiar with the various options listed on the editing bar above the posting area. You can modify the look of your text and insert pictures as well as audio and video files. Enter your blog post, save and preview the post.

  Publish your post when you're ready to make it viewable online. Repeat the previous step every time you want to create a new post on your new TypePad blog. You can also create a new post in this manner using your mobile phone. Share your newly published blog with your contacts via email or social media.
