How to Use Your iPhone on the SaskTel Network

SaskTel is the top communications provider in Saskatchewan, Canada, with more than 1.4 million customers and an annual revenue of $1.15 billion as of 2010. It offers several communications services, including home phone, wireless phone, Internet, home security and digital cable TV. SaskTel launched its 3G network in August 2010, and started selling micro SIM cards shortly thereafter. Although SaskTel doesn't sell iPhones, owners of the Apple device can activate their unlocked phone on the SaskTel network by purchasing and installing a SaskTel micro SIM card.

      Unlock your iPhone. Several online companies offer this service for a small fee. Do a web search for "unlock iPhone" to find the right unlocking software for you. It is possible to unlock your iPhone yourself for free as well, though it will take a bit of computer know-how and patience. Do a web search to find instructions on how to do this.

      Insert the SaskTel Micro SIM card into your iPhone.

      Turn on your iPhone. Once the "network discovery" in complete, your iPhone will be activated for voice use.

      Select "General" under the "Settings" icon. Choose "Network" and set "Cellular Data" to "On." Select "Cellular Data Network" to open the cellular data settings page.

      Enter "inet.stm.sk.ca" in the "APN" field. Leave the "Username" and "Password" fields blank.

      Select "MMS" and enter "proxy.stm.sk.ca" in the "APN" field, leaving the "Username" and "Password" fields blank once again.

      Tap "MMSC" and enter "http://mms.sasktel.com."

      Enter "mig.sasktel.com" under "MMS Proxy."

      Select "APN" under "Internet Tethering" and enter "inet.stm.sk.ca," leaving the "Username" and "Password" fields blank.
