How to View Program History

PC users have access to many default programs in Windows. This ease of access might also make it harder for a user to remember which files were opened in a program. Users frequently open and switch back and forth between numerous programs in a day. In some cases, several programs are required to edit or produce just one file, such as capturing personal video, editing it and then making a DVD. If you have Windows 7, you can alleviate this bewilderment and jump right to the history of activity for a program.

Open the program. Move the cursor to the taskbar at the bottom of the Windows desktop.

Right-click on the program's button. Wait for the "Jump List" to open from the taskbar above the button showing the history of activity in the program.

Click on a document or file in the list to open it in the program.
