The Pavilion A1410N desktop computer was released by Hewlett-Packard in 2007 and discontinued a year later in favor of newer models. However, the computer comes with a relatively impressive array of specifications and can still be purchased either in used or refurbished conditions from a number of online retailers.

The Media Center A1410N comes with a 2.4 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 3800 processor capable of 64-bit processing. It has 1 gigabyte of RAM for multitasking but can be expanded up to 4GB with a memory speed of 400 megahertz.

The machine comes standard with a 200GB SATA hard drive that spins at 7,200 revolutions per minute, allowing for fast data retrieval. It does not have a floppy disc drive.

The A1410N comes with a DVD-RW(DL) drive. This allows users to play DVDs and burn DVD-Rs, DVD-RWs, and DVD-RW(DL)s, which are dual-layer DVDs capable of holding more than 8GB of information. The optical drive can read and burn music CDs and data CDs.

The computer comes with six USB ports, two PS/2 ports for mouse and keyboard, two Ethernet ports, one S-video port, one 3.5mm headphone jack and one 3.5mm microphone jack, one VGA output and one FireWire port for transferring digital video. On the front, it also has a nine-in-one card reader capable of reading SD cards, CF cards -- Type I and Type II -- Memory sticks, microdrives and xD picture cards, multimedia cards and smartmedia cards.
