HP Ze4900: Specifications

    • The HP Pavilion ze4900 is a mobile notebook computer which was manufactured by the Hewlett-Packard Corporation in 2005. This model of laptop has been discontinued, although HP still offers support for this product. The Pavilion ze4900 was designed as an entry level notebook for cost-conscious consumers, and offered modest capabilities at a budget price at the time of release.

    Speed

    • The HP Pavilion ze4900 features a single 1.5 gigahertz (GHz) Intel Celeron mobile processor and utilizes dual data rate (DDR) random access memory (RAM). The standard memory included with this laptop is 512 megabytes (MB) which is expandable to 1 gigabyte (GB) of memory. The Pavilion ze4900 notebook computer features an integrated Intel Extreme graphics card which utilizes up to 64 MB of shared memory from the RAM. A combination drive is utilized in order to write and play compact discs and DVDs. The speed of this drive is 8X for DVDs, 24X for writing CDs and 24X for playing CDs. The model comes with a standard 40GB hard drive which operates at 4200 rotations per minute (RPM).

    Connections

    • The HP Pavilion ze4900 includes an 802.11 b/g internal Wi-Fi adapter so that users can connect to the Internet wirelessly. An RJ-11 modem jack comes with a unit for dialup Internet connectivity. For broadband connections, an Ethernet port is included. An external monitor may be connected to this laptop via an external monitor port, and a printer and mouse port are included. The Pavilion ze4900 also comes with audio jacks to plug in headphones and an external microphone. Two universal series bus (USB) ports are included in order to connect a variety of peripheral devices.

    Size

    • As an entry level notebook computer, the HP Pavilion ze4900 weighs a heavy 6.7 pounds and measures 13 inches in length by 10.7 inches in width by 1.6 inches in height. The display of the laptop is 15 inches and includes an XGA screen. The unit is powered by either a battery or an AC adapter. The battery provides an average life of two and a half hours on a full charge.

    Software

    • The HP Pavilion ze4900 runs on Windows XP Home edition and comes with a wide variety of software programs. These programs include Microsoft Works, which is a software package for the creation of documents, presentations and spreadsheets, PhotoSuite ToolKit, for editing images, Easy CD Creator Basic, and Quicken accounting software. A trial to Norton Antivirus is also included. This laptop comes with HP computer management tools in order to back up the laptop's hard drive and to diagnose hardware and software problems.
