Information on Claw Carburetors

The Barry Grant corporation manufacturers various engine components for use in high-speed racing. Among the other engine components the company produces is its line of Claw brand carburetors.
  • Types

    • The Claw carburetor has three sub-brands: Gold, Silver and Sports. The carburetors are designed to deliver bursts of energy to car engines. The different sub-brands are designed to be used in different vehicles, with the Sports carburetor preferred for high-speed sports cars and the Gold and Silver made for lower-speed racing cars.

    Installation

    • Installing Barry Grant carburetors is fairly uniform amongst the brands. The carburetor is installed on the intake manifold of the vehicle. Claw carburetors differ from other Barry Grant carburetors in that once placed in the proper position in the vehicle with the engine running, they must be set level with the center of the cast rib.

    Fun Fact

    • Barry Grant also produces two other carburetors: the Demon line and the Holley line. All Barry Grant carburetors can be disassembled using kits available through the company.
