Inside Secrets About Good Navy Jobs

  • Arts & Photography Specialist

    • While arts and photography doesn't seem like it would be part of the Navy, these specialists are in charge of working with some of the most advanced visual equipment in the world, photographing images underwater on submarines, from long distances off the bows of ships and just chronicling the life of sailors and officers in the Navy for the military's marketing purposes. These specialists are trained as sailors but concentrate on their art and photography to push the military efforts forward, traveling the world on naval ships to wherever their services may be required.

    Telecommunications Specialist

    • Telecommunications specialists are in charge of communication between the wide variety of ships, submarines and aircraft that are involved in daily military operations. These specialists make sure everyone is communicating properly, and the communications systems are active and responding at all times. They also monitor distress signals and reports of enemy or hostile activity coming in over the radio or from other governments onshore. It is often the telecommunication specialist's job to work with people to decode certain messages, or to accurately deliver information to higher ranking officers about whether or not to attack or help someone who needs it on the open ocean. This naval job is both challenging and entertaining and allows these enlisted specialists the ability to travel the world.

    Human Resources

    • Human Resources officers in the Navy have the task of finding the right jobs for new recruits who have just joined the service. This is a job that requires a large amount of people skills. Human resources officers talk to enlisted men at all levels, especially veterans who are leaving military service and getting reacquainted with everyday civilian life.
