Instructions for a TomTom XL 330

Featuring a 4-inch touchscreen interface, a USB port for connecting the device to your desktop computer and Bluetooth support, the TomTom XL 330 mounts to your car's dashboard to provide you with hands-free navigational support. Although the device's user interface does not require prior experience with GPS devices to understand, you may need some practice with the device before you take it out on the road. Begin by mastering the basic functions of the unit.
  • Find a Destination

      Tap the "Navigate to" button on the main menu.

      Tap the "Address" icon, and tap "Street and House Number."

      Use the touchscreen keyboard to input the street and house number of your destination into the corresponding fields, and tap "Done."

      Type a time you would like to arrive at your destination by, and press "Done." The TomTom XL 330 will automatically display a map and begin prompting you to your destination.

    Save Coordinates as a Favorite Location

      Tap the "Add Favorite" icon on the main menu.

      Tap the "Current Location" icon in the menu. The "Current Location" icon is shaped as a directional arrow.

      Reference your saved location by tapping "Navigate to" from the main menu and selecting "Favorite" from the list of locations.

    Find a Point of Interest

      Tap the "Navigate to" icon on the main menu.

      Tap the "Point of Interest" icon, and select "POI near you" to find a point of interest in your area.

      Tap the arrow icon to view a complete list of the point of interest categories, and tap the type of point of interest you are looking for.

      Tap "Find," and type in the name of the point of interest. Highlight the result, and tap "Done" to create a route from your present location to the point of interest.
