  • Prior to First Use

    • 1

Wipe the coffee maker and warming plate with a damp cloth.

    • 2

Place the permanent filter, basket and carafe with lid into a sink filled with soapy water. Wash thoroughly, rinse and allow to dry.

    • 3

Replace the components into the coffee maker.

    • 4

Plug the machine into an electrical outlet.

    Manual Use

    • 1

Lift the lid of the filter reservoir. Line up the filter basket's arrows with the arrows on the coffee maker, and lower the basket into the maker. Place the coffee maker's permanent filter in the basket.

    • 2

Fill the included small measuring cup with ground coffee. The number of scoops you use should equal the number of cups of coffee you are making. For 12 cups of coffee, use 12 scoops. For 4 cups, use 4 scoops. Place the coffee grounds into the filter.

    • 3

Fill the carafe with water to the desired level. Pour it into the water tank, and then close the lid. Put the empty carafe on the warming plate.

    • 4

Press the button that looks like a circle with a vertical line through the top to start the brewing cycle. The coffee is ready when the buzzer sounds twice.

    Timed Use

    • 1

Set the current time on the coffee maker. Press the "hr" button one time for each hour you want to advance. Press the "min" button to adjust the minute portion of the current time.

    • 2

Add ground coffee and water as you would for a manually brewed pot of coffee.

    • 3

Set the brew time on the coffee maker. Push "prog," then set hour and minutes as you did when setting the current time. Push "prog" again to save the brew time.

    • 4

Push "auto" to begin the automatic brew cycle.
