The Kodak Easyshare C813 is an 8.0 megapixel camera that also shoots video. The camera uses a 3x optical zoom lens coupled with 5x digital zoom capabilities. The camera includes Kodak's Easyshare software for sharing images and creating online image galleries. The C813's specs allow users to enlarge images past the standard portrait size print and still retain good image quality.

The Kodak Easyshare C813 features a 1/2.5-inch CCD sensor. The camera has a total pixel count of 8.3 million pixels and an effective pixel count (pixels actually used to create image data) of 8.2 million pixels. The camera comes equipped with a 36 to 108mm (35mm equivalent) f/2.7 to f/4.8 lens with a two-step aperture design. The Kodak C813 also features a 2.4-inch color monitor that utilizes 115,000 dots. The camera has 16MB of internal memory but accepts SD/MMC memory cards through its expansion slot.

The Kodak C813 has an automatic ISO sensitivity range of ISO 80 to ISO 200. When the user selects manual ISO mode she can manually adjust the ISO range from ISO 80 to ISO 1,250. The C813 comes with two metering modes -- through-the-lens automatic exposure metering and multi-pattern automatic exposure metering. The camera also features four manual white balance modes plus an automatic white balance mode.

The Kodak C813 uses standard JPEG compression for image formatting. The C813 has three image capture modes -- color, black and white and sepia. The camera produces various image sizes depending on the megapixel setting used. At its highest setting of 8.1 MP it captures an image 3,296 pixels across and 2,472 pixels high. At the camera's lowest pixel setting of 1.2 MP it captures an image 1,280 pixels across and 960 pixels high.
Video Capture

The C813 also shoots video using Quicktime motion JPEG format with audio. Based on the amount of storage available the C813 can capture up to 80 minutes of continuous video. The camera captures video using two settings -- VGA at 15 frames-per-second and 640 pixels across and 480 pixels high, or QVGA at 30 frames-per-second and 320 pixels across and 240 pixels high.

The Easyshare C813 has six shooting modes -- automatic, SCN, video, digital IS, close-up and favorites. The camera also has 16 scene modes designed for use under specific lighting conditions. These scene modes include portrait, night portrait, night landscape, fireworks and text/document.

The Kodak Easyshare C813 measures 3.6 inches wide, 2.6 inches high and 1.5 inches deep. The camera weighs 4.8 oz. The C813 also features custom settings for adjusting camera sounds, date and time stamp, date display, language, LCD brightness and auto power-off settings.
