The Location of a 1965 Chevy Impala Fuse Box

The fuse box in your Impala houses an array of fuses that power electrical components like the brake lights and your radio. If you have electrical problems, you can locate the fuse box in your 1965 Chevy Impala and replace any blown fuses at home with a few common tools.

  Open the driver's door on your 1965 Impala and pull the hood-release lever. Lift the hood and locate the battery. Loosen and remove the negative cable from its post on the battery with a socket wrench. Wrap black electrical tape around the lead terminal at the end of the negative cable. Position the cable away from your battery within the engine compartment.

  Kneel down within the opening of the front driver's door. Position yourself so that you can clearly see underneath the dashboard. To the left of the steering wheel you should see a small square box. This is your Impala's fuse box.

  Lower the fuse box by pushing inward on the retaining tab at the front. With the tab depressed pull down gently on the front portion of the fuse box to access the fuses. The back of the fuse box is supposed to remain attached; don't forcefully pull it away from its hinge. You can remove the glass-tube fuses by hand or carefully with a pair of needle nosed pliers.
