Mitsubishi Diamante Performance

The Mitsubishi Diamante was an entry level luxury vehicle manufactured between 1990 and 2005. The 1997 model marked the beginning of the vehicle's second generation, which lasted through the end of the nameplate's production run.

    • The Diamante derived its power from a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 engine. This 24-valve SOHC motor has a 3.54-inch bore, 3.58-inch stroke and a compression ratio of 9.6:1. Output for this engine is rated at 210 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 231 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm.

    • This midsize sedan has a zero-to-60 mph time of 8.3 seconds and runs through the quarter mile in 16.2 seconds at 87.7 mph. The Diamante stops from 60 mph in 127 feet and can run through a 600-foot, six-cone slalom at 63.6 mph.

    • The Diamante's combination of V-6 motor and four-speed automatic transmission yields 18 miles per gallon in the city and 26 on the highway.
