"CHIP" magazine's CHIP Users' Choice Awards 2004 named Kingston Technology as the top RAM module based on overall consumer perception. "By employing a multi- tiered testing system, Kingston product is tested fully at every step in the production of a module," according to the company's ValueRAM website. Kingston's ValueRAM memory modules include the 64-bit PC3200.

    Module Dimensions

    • The PC3200 module measures 1.250 in. by 5.250 in. and offers 1 GB of RAM.This space functions effectively because of its 16 64-module by 8-bit DDR 400 SDRAM components in TSOP packages.

    Speed

    • The PC 3200 utilizes a double-data-rate architecture that allows for increased productivity because of the addition of two data transfers per clock cycle.

    Performance

    • The Kingston PC 3200 has a clock cycle time of 5 nanoseconds (minimum) to 10 nanoseconds (maximum). Its row cycle and refresh row cycle speeds come in at 55 nanoseconds and 65 nanoseconds, respectively.

    Power

    • A 3.825 watt operating port powers the memory module, allowing for high efficiency in machines that use comparatively low power. The PC3200's peak operating temperature is 0 to 70 C, while its safe storage temperature ranges from -55 C to 150 C.
