Pontiac G8 V6 Performance

The Pontiac G8 was a high-performance, rear-wheel drive, full-size sedan that was available for only the 2008 and 2009 model years. The G8 was available in three trim levels, including the Base, GT and GXP; however, the base model was the only G8 equipped with a V6 engine.

V6 Engine Specs

• Both the 2008 and 2009 Pontiac G8 Base model have the same 3.6 L 256 horsepower V6 engine that produces 248 pound-feet of torque. The V6 Pontiac G8 was only available in a five-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and estimates seven seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.

Fuel Economy

• The Pontiac G8 Base model has an average gas mileage estimate with 17 mpg for city driving and 25 mpg for highway driving. The G8 has a fuel capacity of 19 gallons and recommends 87 octane unleaded fuel.

• The G8 is equipped with standard ABS brakes with brake assist as well as stability and traction control to improve handling. The G8 also has an independent front strut suspension with a stabilizer bar and coil springs and a multi-link rear independent suspension with a stabilizer bar and coil springs.
