Precious Metal and Clay Projects

  • Key Chain

    • Shape a piece of polymer clay into a whimsical or beautiful shape. Press the polymer clay shape into the end of a sterling silver key chain tip. Bake the key chain on a cookie sheet in a 200 degree F oven for 10 minutes.

    Ornaments

    • Roll a piece of polymer clay into a flat sheet, and use a cookie cutter to cut out a Christmas shape. Smooth the edges of the shape with your fingers. Use a pencil eraser to poke out a hole in the top of the ornament. Bake the ornament on a cookie sheet in a 200 degree F oven for 10 minutes, then cool. Insert a sterling silver wire into the hole, and twist it around itself to create a loop. Hang the ornament up by the loop.

    Pendant

    • Sculpt a piece of polymer clay into the desired shape, then insert a piece of sterling silver wire into it. Wrap the wire around the clay in a creative, artistic way. Leave a piece of the wire up so that you can string a necklace chain through it. Bake the pendant on a cookie sheet in a 200 degree F oven for 10 minutes, then allow it to cool.
