Problems With the Installation of AutoCAD LT 2010 in Windows 7

The AutoCAD LT 2010 software is broadly compatible with Microsoft Windows 7. Autodesk does however highlight some minor issues with the software under Windows 7 and suggests some guidelines.

Installation

• If you have upgraded an existing computer to Windows 7, Autodesk recommends that you uninstall and reinstall the software after the upgrade is complete. You may not be able to run the old installation of the software.

Problems

• You may experience operation issues with the software under Windows 7. These can include the inability to use encrypted files with AutoCAD, software crashes and blank "info center" balloons.

  There are also some published problems that can cause Windows 7 to not load properly following uninstallation of AutoCAD LT 2010.

Suggestion

• If you are unable to work around the problems you may wish to upgrade to AutoCAD 2011. These issues do not occur with the more recent version of the product.
