Requirements for an RAC Delegate

    • The Regional Association Council (RAC) is a national organization that governs nonprofit associations conducting business in industries related to promotional products. RAC affiliates receive marketing services, a list of prequalified representatives and speakers for its individual organizational affairs and a national network of industry-related associations. RAC encourages cooperation and continuous networking between its regional associations. Any association that engages promotional product companies is eligible to become an RAC member. Each regional association must elect a delegate to vote and act on behalf of the association.

    Eligibility Requirements

    • To be eligible for RAC Regional Delegate status, individuals are required to be active employees of one or more companies in their regional associations. Delegates must serve in at least one of the three committees within RAC: marketing and communications, development and membership. To serve as Delegates, they must also serve on the legislative committee of their regional associations.

    Responsibility Requirements

    • Individuals currently serving as Regional Delegates have a responsibility to serve RAC in a number of ways. They must attend at least three meetings per year and communicate RAC's initiatives, reports and deadlines to their regional association on a quarterly basis. At each meeting, all delegates are expected to be prepared, insightful and participatory. Most importantly, each delegate must vote on behalf of his respective association at RAC meetings. The Delegates acts as a liaisons to RAC and are the primary contacts for the regional association regarding all communication.

    Election and Term Requirements

    • According a regional association's bylaws, each delegate is either appointed or elected. The deadline to confirm an association's Regional Delegate is July 1. The length of each term is one year; however, individuals may serve consecutive terms. These terms begin around the Delegate Assembly each January. It is the decision of each individual regional association whether the terms commence before or after the assembly.
