  • Parents Without Partners

    • Parents Without Partners' Lake Illinois branch is designed to provide a social outlet for single parents throughout the Lake County area. The organization holds social activities geared toward helping single parents meet others who share their interests and provides support regarding the challenges and responsibilities of being a single parent. Activities vary from child-friendly events to adults-only dinners, along with social events that are geared more toward dating and socializing with other single parents. Parents Without Partners is a not-for-profit organization, and membership is required. As of 2010, the fee required to join is $45.

    Singles Ride

    • The Bicycle Club of Lake County sponsors a singles ride, which is open to singles of all ages. The ride typically is held on the fourth Saturday of the month, from April through October, and begins at 9 a.m. Customarily, the ride begins at the Old School Forest Preserve in Libertyville. The ride consists of a 12- to 15-mile ride on a trail made of crushed limestone. While riders are free to ride at their own pace, no one will be left behind. All participants are welcome to join the Bicycle Club of Lake County; membership is not required to participate in the ride. Helmets are required and not provided.

    Bachelors and Bachelorettes

    • Bachelors and Bachelorettes Club of McHenry, Illinois offers a social environment for singles throughout Lake County who are interested in square dancing. Members participate in square dances and square dancing classes, in addition to special events such as dining out and bowling. The purpose of the club is to help single men and women meet others who share similar interests in a fun and safe, structured environment. While schedules vary, the club typically meets every first and third Friday of the month. As of 2010, there were no dues required.
