Specifications for a Chevy Z24

• Chevrolet introduced the Cavalier in 1982, continuing production until 2005. Although the Cavalier was offered for 24 years, only two generations of the model existed. The second-generation was produced from 1995 until 2005. In 1986, Chevrolet debuted a sportier variant known as the Cavalier Z24. Initially, the Chevy Z24 featured a V6 engine, stiffer suspension, alloy wheels and Z24 tape graphics.

1986 to 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24

• The first Z24 models of the Cavalier were powered by a 2.8-liter V6 engine. The V6 produced 125 horsepower and 160 foot-pounds of torque. Available in a convertible and coupe, the Z24 came standard with a five-speed manual gearbox. A three-speed automatic transmission was optional.

1990 to 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24

• Rounding out the end of the first-generation of the Z24, the 1990 to 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier's were equipped with a 3.1-liter V6 engine. The larger displacement V6 was rated at 140 horsepower and 185 foot-pounds of torque. In 1990 and 1991, the Z24 was only available as a coupe, and a convertible was reintroduced in 1992.

1995 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24

• The 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier was the first year of the second-generation. The Z24 trim was offered as a coupe only and powered with a 2.3-liter, inline, four-cylinder engine. The engine produced 150 horsepower and 152 foot-pounds of torque.

1996 to 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier

• Powering the Cavalier Z24 through its final years was a 2.4-liter, inline, four-cylinder engine. The 2.4-liter engine generated 150 horsepower and 167 foot-pounds of torque, expect for the 2002 model year. The 2002 Z24 only offered 155 foot-pounds of torque. During its final year in 2002, the Z24 was available as a sedan and coupe. In 1999, the only second-generation Z24 convertible was available.
